Arjowiggins Chartham Mill is part of a larger Paper Manufacturing Company based in the village of Chartham just outside Canterbury.

Our translucent paper products, have been made on this site since 1938 and are used for many applications worldwide. We are pleased to announce that we are entering an exciting phase of Company development. We are actively promoting our capability to produce recyclable and environmentally friendly paper products for new applications in a variety of markets.

Electrical Technicians

Arjowiggins Chartham Mill is part of a larger Paper Manufacturing Company based in the village of Chartham just outside Canterbury. Our translucent paper products, have been made on this site since 1938 and are used for many applications worldwide. We are pleased to announce that we are entering an exciting phase of Company development. We are actively promoting our capability to produce recyclable and environmentally friendly paper products for new applications in a variety of markets.

To support our accredited Quality, Safety and Environmental manufacturing process, we have opportunities in our Engineering Department.

Electrical Technicians:

Our engineering section works a variety of day, day rota and continuous shift patterns and provides vital support to the process areas on a continuous 24-hour basis.

Successful candidates will assist with planned maintenance, installation, fault diagnosis and improvement work on a wide range of papermaking and converting machinery observing all the required safety standards.

Suitable candidates will have served a recognised Apprenticeship and be qualified to a minimum of National Certificate Level in an Electrical engineering discipline. You will ideally have recent experience in a heavy industrial environment.

If you are self-motivated to work as an individual, can work successfully as part of a team, have good communication skills and a proven ability to problem solve, these positions should interest you. Salary for trained technicians will be in the range of £33,500 to £40,500 per year depending on hours worked and experience. Benefits, training and hours will be provided upon request or at interview.

Mechanical Engineering Technicians

To support our accredited Quality, Safety and Environmental manufacturing process, we have opportunities in our Engineering Department.

Engineering Technicians: We require Mechanical Technicians.

• Ideally suitable candidates will have served a recognised Apprenticeship and be qualified to a minimum of National Certificate Level in an engineering discipline. You will ideally have recent experience in a heavy industrial environment.

• We would consider development of individuals who have not yet achieved a full apprenticeship in engineering.

If you are self-motivated to work as an individual, can work successfully as part of a team, have good communication skills and a proven ability to problem solve, these positions should interest you. Electrical Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Manager.

You will ideally have a background in heavy engineering and be a Chartered Electrical Engineer. We will also consider applications from those on a career path that will lead to chartered status.

You will have extensive experience with electrical power, distribution and control up to 415V. You are also likely to have HV experience and authorisation. Experience with drives (AC and DC), PLCs and/or DCS systems would also be an advantage.

You will be responsible for a team of 8 and you will need proven abilities to develop, manage and coach this committed and proactive electrical team.

In addition to the day to day running of the department you will need to set out, communicate and manage longer term objectives.

You should have an interest in financial planning, ability to forecast departmental requirements and ability to design and deliver actions plans to meet these. An important part of the role will be to develop strategic electrical plans and an awareness of business requirements in this respect.
In addition to the above we are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, with excellent communication and management skills, able to persuade and influence, a critical thinker and able to problem solve.

Production Operatives

To deliver our accredited Quality, Safety and Environmental manufacturing process, we have opportunities in our Production Department.

Production Operatives:

We are looking for existing (or those prepared to be developed) Production Process Operatives.

• Our Paper Machine runs 24/7 on 12-hour annualised hours shift pattern working a total of 1725 hours per year.

• Experience of working 12- hour shifts in a production environment is desirable although not essential. The successful candidate must be willing to work in all parts of the Paper Machine and other areas of the Mill as required.

• Full training in our Paper manufacturing process will be provided to successful candidates with the possibility of completing a Papermaking Apprenticeship for those interested in a development opportunity.

If you are self-motivated to work as an individual, can work successfully as part of a team, have good communication skills and a proven ability to problem solve, these positions should interest you.
